SEKINO
A guesthouse renovated from a 100-year-old traditional Japanese house in Nishiura, Numazu City. The rooms include four 8-tatami-mat rooms, two 6-tatami-mat rooms, a sunken kotatsu room, and a 12-tatami-mat dining kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with frying pans, pots, and basic seasonings. The living room TV offers Amazon Prime and Disney+. Wi-Fi is also available. As the rooms are separated only by shoji screens and fusuma sliding doors, we recommend staying with family or close friends. It’s perfectly located for exploring the terraced mikan orange groves, the spectacular view of Mount Fuji across the sea, swimming, fishing, and as a base for your Izu travels. ※Please note: Public transportation is very limited in this rural area, so a car is essential.
Exterior
One of the oldest houses in the Nishiura-Kuzura district of Numazu City is SEKINO.This century-old, single-story traditional house features a veranda next to the entrance, with a garden spreading out where you can enjoy the changing seasonal scenery of various trees.The garden walls are made of Izu stone, the same stone used in Edo Castle, and stone storehouses built with Izu stone also remain within the district.
Room
We’ve renovated to preserve the old charm while making it more comfortable for relaxation. Enjoy leisurely moments in this luxurious space featuring three Japanese-style rooms (two 8-Tatami mat rooms and one 6-Tatami mat room), a detached Japanese-style room (6 Tatami mats), a living room, and a dining kitchen. There’s a dining table for six and a table for four that doubles as a sunken kotatsu in winter.
As this is an entire house rental, there will be no other guests. Enjoy a relaxed stay with family or friends. Since the room dividers are only shoji screens and fusuma sliding doors, we recommend this for stays with family or close friends.
Facilities
Three air conditioners are installed in the living room and detached Japanese-style room. Electric fans are available for summer, and kerosene fan heaters for winter. Parking is located by the sea, a 3-minute walk from the guesthouse.

Pricing is based on a group of two people. For each additional person beyond two, an extra ¥4,500 will be charged. Children under 3 years old stay free; children aged 3 and above incur an additional fee.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made up to 7 days prior to arrival date are free of charge.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 7 days of the arrival date.

※ This facility is a 100-year-old traditional Japanese house. Due to its structure, walls and window glass are thin, making sound easily audible. Therefore, please be extremely mindful of noise (loud music, loud conversations, etc.) after 9:00 PM. As this is a rural residential area, we kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a pleasant environment where everyone observes proper etiquette.
※ As this is an old wooden house surrounded by nature and the sea, insulation is not particularly high. Due to its age, some guests may find the presence of insects physically difficult to tolerate. While we make every effort to prevent their appearance, please understand this is not a concrete or modern-built inn or hotel, but rather a wooden “old residence” built around 100 years ago.
